Marketing Specialist – financial and professional services – Fitzrovia, London, hybrid
CG Results, recently acquired by and soon to be fully known as Canaccord Genuity, the leading mid-market investment bank, is a very successful growth M&A business now forming a significant part of the European investment banking team at CG.
Focussed on two sectors of excellence, Healthcare and Technology we have a distinct and enduring culture, strong deal flow and are really excited about the recent merger and our capacity to do even more exciting cross-border deals at scale.
Excitingly, the Marketing Specialist role is a stand-alone role, both working as a key member of our close-knit corporate solutions team and widely with all the senior MD’s helping them implement their business development and sector marketing plans.
You’ll be involved in and co-ordinating everything marketing from events to managing our CRM, managing the brand whilst liaising closely with our global marketing teams, managing key projects as well as attending and contributing to internal new business and marketing strategy meetings. Like most of our other team members in corporate finance no two days are likely to be the same. One week you may be running a client breakfast briefing, discussing an email marketing campaign with MD’s and your counterparts in the US, designing an email invite and working to a deadline with an important deal announcement.
You’ll have a few years’ experience across a breadth of marketing, ideally in a regulated and certainly professional services environment, and now be ready to branch out on your own working closely with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll be good at building relationships internally, own a strong project management skill set and the capacity to follow things through to completion. You’ll be very confident and pro-active and keen to develop your career in banking or financial services.
Experience and an interest in CRM as a tool to drive business is important, along with great Excel skills but a keen enthusiasm for every element of events (working with our PA team finding venues, making arrangements, sourcing and managing suppliers) is equally vital including managing sponsors, speakers and overseeing and driving all our sector and client events. Your strengths will include strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work. Delivering excellent work will be important to you. You’ll like the idea of working with a small team of forty professionals but part of a wider platform and the opportunities to develop that brings.
CG Results offers a unique culture in the world of corporate finance. The team enjoys coming to work every day as well as socialising together (we’re especially excited about our summer event in June) – it’s all about working together to achieve our goals but if you’ve already read our website, you’ll know that.
Along with our exceptional working environment (currently hybrid) we offer a competitive salary, annual bonus, healthcare, pension, 25 days holiday and a very supportive and friendly team with regular social events the norm.
If this sounds like a great move for you, please drop us a covering note with your CV saying why you would like to join us and what skills you can bring.
Life before CG Results: My M&A career started as a summer intern at Goldman’s. I then joined them and spent four years as an Analyst and then Associate. The biggest deal I worked on was the Telefonica O2 deal in the early 2000’s. My contribution was taxi’ing all the documents from Partner to Partner for […]
Life before CG Results: I always wanted to work in Finance – I used to watch all the films like Wall St so I managed to get to LSE to study and then into the graduate programme at Bear Stearns, luckily leaving before the bad days. It was a while before I got into the […]
Life before CG Results: Being brought up in the Midlands (of the UK) meant I got stuck into every activity going; from ballet and ballroom to every sport you might mention. At school I had more of a knack for the sciences and chose to do a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics. I soon figured the […]
Life before CG Results: I grew up by the River Thames and went to the local grammar – I loved swimming and trained 8 times a week – although not in the river! I very nearly read Law at Uni and wanted to be a lawyer. It was a close run thing but switching to […]
Life before CG Results: Growing up in a little town on the Suffolk and Essex border my favourite activity was dancing – anything from tap to ballet to acro – see later. At school and in life my main interests centred around humanities; people and society so studying Sociology and Anthropology was a great choice […]
Life before CG Results: Early years in Huenxe, a small town near Dusseldorf, was followed by a very science focussed academic route. Deciding a lab wasn’t for me though, despite completing my PhD, didn’t take too long and I became increasingly keen on combining science with something more commercial so applied to CG Results and […]
