Corporate Finance Insight Week: 20th – 24th August

Typically, people coming into corporate finance (Investment Banking/Mergers & Acquisitions) tend to be from quite a narrow background. We would like to change this. We have put together a programme called the Corporate Finance Insight Week with the aim to give young people that might not otherwise have considered or had the opportunity to consider Corporate Finance (Investment Banking/Mergers & Acquisitions) as a career path. The programme will provide students with an insight into what it might be like to work in this area.

Who is it for?

Any student (A Level/higher education) who might not otherwise have considered corporate finance, or had it suggested.

You may be the first in your family to be considering, or be in higher education, you may have been in care, experienced periods of homelessness or grown up without some of the privileges many in this industry enjoy. Or you may be in one of the underrepresented groups (women, ethnic minorities, underperforming school backgrounds).

Structure

A one week programme, running from Monday 20th to Friday 24th August 2018.

What does a process look like?

How do you value a business?

Documentation & legal elements

The key to being a brilliant banker

Stories from the ‘coalface’ from senior team members

Insight into our 3 sectors; Marketing, Technology & Healthcare

Mentoring sessions with analysts

Interview confidence building sessions

Final social event with team members

Alongside all of this, you will have the opportunity to complete a case study through the week and get feedback on your work from team members – great for confidence building!
