DC Storm is an award-winning and fast-growing technology company that provides omni-channel attribution, measurement and trading analytics to online advertisers.

DC Storm was founded in 2004 and is based in Brighton. Their Measured Success proposition delivers customers an independent, comprehensive and transparent view of campaign performance across marketing channels, enabling advertisers to optimise performance. Measured Success is delivered through a market-leading technology platform and expert consultancy services. In April 2014 DC Storm was named the UK’s Best Attribution Solution by The Drum.

With offices in the UK, USA and Germany, DC Storm works with over 1,000 websites worldwide with a customer base that spans all major consumer verticals and has an exceptional reputation within both pure-play online and ‘bricks and clicks’ retail.

Led by Seth Richardson, CEO and Co-Founder, the Company has experienced excellent growth and featured in the Deloitte Fast 500 for 2013.

Many marketing and advertising technology companies have to date focused on building/acquiring channel-specific capability. However, as customer journeys become more complex, digital marketers need platforms that enable them to measure effectiveness and attribute value across all channels. DC Storm has built a strong reputation as a pioneer in attribution, analytics and tag management, providing independent and accurate analysis, and enjoys a strategic position in the digital marketing ecosystem.

The company itself was on a strong growth path as its technology gained traction in the UK and was starting to make waves in the US and Germany. The shareholders recognised that becoming part of a larger truly international group would enable it to accelerate its growth further and fully exploit the opportunity provided by its award-winning technology.

CG Results International worked with the Board and investors to assist them in exploring and evaluating the many options open to them. Seth, as founder and CEO, was dedicated to driving the business forward with his management team and finding the right partner with a shared view of the market opportunity was paramount.

The transaction with Rakuten Marketing is an excellent result for shareholders and DC Storm’s management team alike, providing the opportunity to become part of an exciting global player committed to developing an industry-leading marketing technology and services offering. Rakuten Marketing’s existing businesses cover affiliate marketing, retargeting, display, mobile, search marketing, lead generation, and automated product feeds.

DC Storm becomes part of the Rakuten Marketing family of brands that include:

  • Rakuten LinkShare – #1 ranked performance marketing network.
  • Rakuten MediaForge – Leader in retargeting and display, recognised for its consumer engagement based business model.
  • Rakuten Search – Full service search marketing agency in the US
  • Rakuten PopShops – Product feed and deals content aggregator.

We wanted an advisor who really understood the AdTech sector, had good access to US and International partners, and would deliver on their promises. Throughout the process CG Results has lived up to their pitch; the senior team were completely involved throughout; their advice was strategic and honest; and the entire team worked with drive and commitment to secure the best outcome for all involved.
