Results International is delighted to have advised MMT Digital on its acquisition by Be Heard Group Plc. Be Heard is an AIM-listed trading vehicle headed by Peter Scott, co-founder and former CEO of The Engine Group and Aegis Plc.

SITUATION
Uppingham and London based agency MMT Digital is an award winning digital design, development and user experience business. Since its inception in 1999 the business has grown to become one of the leading global partners for the Kentico platform and working with high profile clients including Comparethemarket.com, NHS and Pearson. Led by the founders Ben Rudman and James Cannings the agency has achieved excellent growth and profit margins over recent years and positions itself as a specialist in architecting, creating and building bespoke websites and applications that deliver outstanding user experiences.

OPPORTUNITY
The founders decided that the timing was right to identify a strategic partner to help leverage their genuinely agile bespoke business model and momentum in the marketplace to accelerate growth and financial performance.

Following a competitive review this led to Results International being appointed to examine the best possible outcome for the Company from both a strategic and valuation perspective.

With a strong client base and recognition across the industry MMT Digital received significant interest from a number of strategic partners looking to build and enhance their capability.

OUTCOME
Results and the founders leveraged both the team’s sector knowledge and network to ensure that the Company was engaging with the most relevant strategic partners including new entrants to the market.

After deliberation the founders decided to proceed with Be Heard. The obvious fit with Be Heard’s first acquisition Agenda 21 was attractive to the founders adding their capabilities to Agenda 21’s specialisms in media buying, SEO and analytics.

This acquisition is the next step for Be Heard in the journey to become a digitally focused international network of ‘best in breed’ specialist agencies spanning the marketing services, technology and eCommerce sectors.

Results worked closely with the founders of MMT Digital to secure the best possible offer and preserve value for the duration of the deal process through to a successful conclusion.
